No, the point is that the capitalist system is dependent on violence, thus violence is prevalent in capitalist society. Cause and effect. No analogy.

You assert that even the moron can generally grasp the difference between fantasy and reality. Agreed! Thus they can grasp that the UFC is a sporting event, not a street fight. Thus they can grasp that they are not an elite level combat sport athlete (any more than they are wolverine), they are merely a moron. Anything else would be a descent into, well, fantasy. They may well fantasize that they are an elite level martial artist, but they aren't, and can't fight like one, so it has no concrete effect whatsoever. They can think they're Jesus if they want, but no walking on water will come of it.

Same can be said for fighting.

I think that most kids have seen their share of real violence and fighting from a fairly young age. When I was a young lad I remember watching Baghdad burn, whole city blocks destroyed on TV. CNN covered it like it was the Superbowl, the NBA finals and the World Series all rolled up into one. It was entertainment. And it was the real killing of real men, women and children. The UFC's catch phrase is "as real as it gets." It gets realer. Timothy McVeigh fought over there in Desert Storm, then he came back here and blew up the Federal building in Oklahoma city. I watched them carry out people's bodies on TV. Apparently McVeigh was mad about Waco Texas. I watched that one on TV too, watched those crazy Branch Davidians all burn up, children and pregnant women and all. It goes on and on. Bosnia, the Rwandan genocide, September 11th, the new wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. There is always a war to bear witness to. And that's on TV. I've been witness to domestic violence, shootings, stabbings, beatings etc in person. And I've lived a completely ordinary and relatively sheltered life. The problem is not that these things are on TV--it is that they happen in real life. Again, this real life fighting is much more real, and brutal than MMA, which is the least of our worries, and certainly not the cause of the real fighting.
