Funny that you say this. I just watched a documentary on bitcoin earlier this month, since I kinda knew the concept of it, but didnt fully understand how it worked. The thing I had a hard time wrapping my head around was how currency actually gains value. Like something like that, is only really worth anything if the general public believes it has value and stands behind it.

So anyway, what I took away from the documentary in reguards to that is that bitcoin wouldve never really taken off and gained proper momentum if not for the help of the drug community. Silk Road was really the reason bitcoin has any footing at all as being looking at as real money.
