Wow that guy is totally fucked up right now. I listened to all of it and wondered what the fuck made you start shooting heroine in your 20's , and rob a place or a person? You have kids man what the fuck where you thinking? He sounds all fucked up like he is fumbling his words and his voice is all shaky and he changes the fucking subject every 2 seconds. I got that at least he knows he fucked up and at least he does want to see his kids again and at least he wants to stay off drugs but seriously what chain of events led him to fucked up on heroine and stealing for that shit and losing custody of his kids and in jail , how do you fuck up that hard what the fuck?

Its really not that unbelievable that someone would go to those extremes when using heroin. Its hard to convey just how much being addicted to it negatively impacts a person (and thier judgement) until you're able to see it first hand.

Unfortunately, I've had the displeasure of helplessly watching far too many people I care about get caught up into that scene. I can't speak for Brandon, but can give you the rundown of the typical chain of events leading to addiction.

-starts out as use of "recreational"
drugs

-taking recreational drugs turn into casually taking prescription opiates. Usually percacets (sp?) or oxytocin

-casual use turns into steady use

-cost of perscription opiates becomes too expensive to maintain the now steady addiction, user turns to heroin being as it is far less expesive.

-There is also usually a chain of events on the heroin usage itself, scaling from snorting to shooting up with a needle.

*side note on opiates/painkillers and how they work with our systems, the interaction with them in our bodies change the way our brains interperate pain. Once addicted a tolerence is built and it takes more/ a higher dosage to recieve the same desired effects. Once fully addicted the user finds pains they used to have that were manageable or unremarkable now completely unbearable.

The pain that comes from withdrawing (or fear of it, if they're not fully withdrawing yet) will cause people to do things normally out of character. Lying and stealing become common traits of a typical addict being they're so desperate for cash for more drugs.

Someone I know is locked up for a similar situation, except he REALLY fucked up, and attempted to rob a pharmacy which is a federal offense. Served about 5 years already and still has 15 to go, if he has to serve out the full punishment. He wasn't like a typical scumbag guy either, he was literally the type of person that would catch a fly and put it outside rather then killing it.


Sorry for the wall of text, its a subject that hits close to home for me and I sometimes have ranting tendencies.
