New superman movie with 300 director

Zack Snyder, known for his action blockbuster “300: The Battle of Thermopylae” will direct a new version of the story of Superman – The Man of Steel. Film studio Warner Bros. announced that the new superhero movie will be in theaters in 2012.

In line with the name of the film, Snyder said that he was super excited and super happy. He was selected to be a director by winning the competition which was consisted of very worthy and talented directors: Tony Scott, Darren Aronofski, Ben Affleck and Matt Reeves. The film will be produced by Christopher Nolan and the script is written by David Goyer.

He told Variety that Brandon Routh, who played in “Superman Returns,” won’t play Clark Kent this time. The film disappointed the audience and critics, and earned “only” $ 120 million more than its budget.

Superman comic strip was created in 1932 by Jerry Siegeland and Joe Shuster. The first film about the popular superhero from the planet Krypton recorded in 1978 was interpreted by the Christopher Reeve.

Snyder (44) also directed movies “Dawn of the Dead”, “Watchmen” and “Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hooleand” and currently he prepares a graphic adaptation of Frank Miller’s novel about the Persian king Xerxes.
