Death penalty or life in prison?

How should we treat assholes who are not fit to live in society because they are fucked in the head killing raping molesting and shit like that?
Also should it be different for cute little teenagers that are too young to die?
Seems like people change their minds on this shit based on the situation.

Of course but its whether or not someone can be punished to death that I was referring to. Like Michigan has no death penalty which means no matter what you cannot decide to execute that person. So the question is really what is most severe punishment a court can give out an any given state? Should a court be allowed to decide whether you lived or die if you are convicted of something terrible?
