Re: Puppy is getting big. - Star - 09-07-2009

cuter before. i want a puppy. or a baby. but i'll settle for a puppy.

Re: Puppy is getting big. - fghtffyrdmns - 09-07-2009

Such a cutieee.
And the dog is cute too, ;)

My puppy isn't a puppy anymore, and my best friend took her in because I moved and couldn't take her.
Now that I can have her in my new apartment, her siblings want to keep her with them. I can't win, :( I miss her.
We're adopting one though, soonish. :)

Re: Puppy is getting big. - Toxic Love - 09-08-2009

I have two 8 month old Springer Spaniels. They aren't little anymore but they're really fucking cute.

I don't like puppies, really. I hate how badly they NEED me. Like at work, I fucking HAAAAAAAAAAATE having to care for neonatals, or hypoglycemic puppies. HAAAAAAAAAAAATE.

Re: Puppy is getting big. - XxSweetBitchAssxX - 09-08-2009

How adorable, in both pictures!!! I love dogs, probably more than people.

Here's mine, he's an American/English bulldog mix.
When I got him him, he looked like this and was 15 pounds:

Now he's 1 year old, and about 70+ pounds and the awesomest dog ever.

Ahahaha mine too! Why do heavy ass dogs think they're tiny enough to cuddle in your lap?

Re: Puppy is getting big. - Grimlin - 09-08-2009

Don't know....but i still let him on my lap.He just doesn't completely fit.Plus having 80 pounds I can't keep him on my lap that long without start feeling sore.

Mine already has the hip problems....so he's spoiled rotten and does whatever he wants for the most part.I'm not sure how much longer we'll be able to keep him, because i don't want to see the day his legs fail him.I'm way to attached to him.

He's extremely attached to my kid as well....Him and Conner(the kid) are best friends. That dog follows him where ever he goes.

Aren't just about all bulldogs bound of have problems like that? That's what I've heard, but haven't met any owners before. I've heard stories about vet bills for bulldogs being insanely high, which sucks, because I've also heard they're pretty incredible pets.

Re: Puppy is getting big. - Star - 09-08-2009

I think it's larger dogs in general. We have a border collie, that's 7 years old, and he has some trouble with his joints. My aunt had an Alaskan Malamute named Chinook that had bad hip problems...he lived to be thirteen, but I think she finally had to have him put down because his hips were causing him so much pain.

Re: Puppy is getting big. - sTr - 09-10-2009

the bigger you are the harder you fall....

Re: Puppy is getting big. - Clizownmothafackoz17 - 09-10-2009

My adopted daughter is an 80 pound lab-pit mix. She is Leyna, the empress of my heart.

Re: Puppy is getting big. - Autumn - 09-11-2009

OMG! Vote for best thread ever! :) Cuuuuuute babies. And I want a bulldog, like you wouldn't believe. The English short legged ones, though.

I'm with Marebear, I love animals SOOOOO much more than people. No doubt. <3

Re: Puppy is getting big. - XxSweetBitchAssxX - 09-11-2009

I love Amy's dog, Alex. Those adventurous and snuggly pics of her are adorable!

Autumn, we originally wanted an English, but they were like 1500-2000 for a puppy, it was insane. So we found a breeder near us that had the mix, went to visit them and fell in love. Boomer was only 500, wooo.

Re: Puppy is getting big. - Toxic Love - 09-12-2009

English bulldogs get loads of problems. I mean loads. Usually they die of respiratory distress... or heart failure which leads them into respiratory distress. Am. Bullies are different. Their snouts are longer (like Mare's Boomer) rather than a smushed in flat-face. I wanted an English bulldog for the longest time up until I started working as a vet tech. Now I don't understand why them (or pugs) exist. Wastes.

Malamutes are unnecessary in size as far as a pet goes. Total hip replacements, bilateral cruciates, etc. Usually bigger dogs get cancer, bloat, or terrible orthopedic problems.

Isn't that just a massive generalization?
I mean sure Bulldogs are more prone to having these problems but you say it as if it's inevitable.
Same thing with big dogs and cancer.

Re: Puppy is getting big. - Nuke-A-Loop - 09-12-2009

right. Well since he is a mutt im not to worried plus his dad has never had one problem....
