Murray-USA TODAY SportsHappy Friday Giants fans! With the NFL draft fast approaching, many of us have been knee-deep in studying film and/or running mock draft simulations as we try to anticipate how general manager Dave Gentleman might be thinking.I’m right there with you in wanting to see how this draft turns out. But along the way, I’ve been jotting down a few thoughts about other news topics that have popped up int he NFL this off-season, all of which I’d like to share with you in this latest installment of ”Pat’s Perspectives.”Enjoy!Should the Giants Take Odell Beckham’s No. 13 out of circulation this year? That would be cool, but it might also be tricky. The Giants of late have been very judicious about retiring numbers out of concern they’ll run out of numbers at certain positions. This is believed to be behind the team’s reluctance to retire No. 53, famously worn by Hall of Fame linebacker Harry Carson. While receiver Odell Beckham Jr. doesn’t quite have Hall of Fame credentials of a Carson or even a Michael Strahan (whose No. 92 hasn’t been officially retired, but which also hasn’t been worn since Strahan retired in 2007) — it might make for a nice gesture to the paying customers who are still mourning the trade that sent Beckham to the Browns, if the Giants could keep Beckham’s No. 13 out of circulation this year. It would be a cool gesture for sure, though I doubt it would ease the sting that Beckham’s loyal followers are still feeling and probably will feel in the months ahead. But for argument’s sake, let’s see if such a move is even possible. Lamar Jackson continues to dominate fantasy football scoring but last week a few of his fellow young guns had big performances. Giants QB Daniel Jones and Cardinals WR Christian Kirk both surpassed the 30-point mark. And this week? You’re looking at Patrick Mahomes Kyle Lauletta Jerseys 2019 , Christian McCaffrey, Jackson and Deshaun Watson as your highest predicted point-earners. Let’s check out who had big fantasy performances in Week 10 (standard format):1) WR Christian Kirk, Arizona Cardinals | 34.80 points2) QB Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens | 33.42 points3) RB Derrick Henry, Tennessee Titans | 32.10 points4) QB Daniel Jones, New York Giants | 30.32 pointsHere’s who you should start and sit, along with their projected points.Who to start1) RB Melvin Gordon, Los Angeles Chargers (vs. Kansas City) | 12.45 pointsThe Kansas City Chiefs may have an awesome offense, but their defense gives up the most fantasy points to opposing running backs. Melvin Gordon, meanwhile, has posted these point totals since coming back from his holdout: 5.8, 6.3, 7.9, 10.4, 24.4 White Evan Engram Jerseys , 19.8. Need any more convincing? Start this dude. 2) RB Devin Singletary, Buffalo Bills (vs. Miami) | 12.15 pointsFans in Buffalo consistently get angry on local talk radio because Sean McDermott’s staff just straight up doesn’t give the ball to the Bills best player. I mean, there’s not much else to say. Give the ball to ‘Motor’, Sean. This week, Singletary goes up against the NFL’s third-worst rush defense, and the team that gives up the fifth-most fantasy points to opposing running backs in Miami. It should be quite fruitful for the rookie rusher out of FAU. He averages 6.4 yard per carry. 3) WR DJ Moore, Carolina Panthers (vs. Atlanta) | 12.00 pointsDJ Moore is the 12th most targeted wide receiver in the NFL with 8.8 targets per game. The Falcons give up the seventh most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers, and they sit eighth in passing yards allowed. Moore has surpassed 12 points in four of his past five games. Who to sit1) QB Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals (vs. San Francisco) | 15.79 pointsDespite Kyler Murray’s excellent season by rookie quarterback standards (fantasy-wise), I don’t think he’ll have a great time this Sunday at San Francisco, the NFL’s 2nd best defense. The 49ers allow the second-least points against to opposing quarterbacks, averaging just 10.37. That’s not a lot. 2) RB Jordan Howard, Philadelphia Eagles (vs. New England) | 9.73 pointsThe Eagles welcome the Patriots to town on Sunday, but the Patriots have the league’s best defense. They average 10.9 points against, tops in the league. That’s a TD and a FG Evan Engram Jerseys 2019 , and those odds aren’t great for Howard. Moreover - wait for it (you know I’m about to hit you with another stat), the Pats allow the fewest points against to opposing running backs at just 12.6. This is not a good matchup. 3) WR Robert Woods, Los Angeles Rams (vs. Chicago) | 11.02 pointsRobert Woods isn’t a terrible start, but if you’re choosing between him and another WR2 who’s getting similar point predictions, I’d side against Woods. The Rams offense looks flat as of late and Woods’ targets vary wildly from week-to-week (last week they were higher because of Brandin Cooks being out). The other variable is that the Bears defense sits at 4th best against opposing wide receivers, allowing a modest 22 points per game. With Cooper Kupp commanding more targets, I think Woods could be in for a quiet game. Let’s see how my picks did last week (actual fantasy points):Start1) RB Nick Chubb, Cleveland Browns (vs. Buffalo) | 13.10 points2) RB Jaylen Samuels, Pittsburgh Steelers (vs. LA Rams) | 5.50 points3) RB Josh Jacobs, Oakland Raiders (vs. LA Chargers) | 17.60 pointsSit 1) WR Josh Gordon, Seattle Seahawks (vs. San Francisco) | 0.00 points2) WR Sammy Watkins, Kansas City Chiefs (vs. Tennessee) | 7.60 points 3) TE Eric Ebron, Indianapolis Colts (vs. Miami) | 8.10 points |
