Moving to SLC - sTr - 07-12-2013
! need some advice homoboys. They offered me a better position and more money to move to Utah. ! have a few friends in AZ, nothing crazy but they are good friends. ! had planned on moving to TX at the end of the year so it's not like ! was going to be there long (theoretically) anyway.
! do like the scenery out here, the one downfall is the winters. What would you do in my situation?

and what is the housing market like there? is it more, or less expensive? cost of living? remember the beer is shit... take that into account

Housing is similar, but will most likely be a little more (about a hundo or so) more a month because my place in AZ is dirt cheap ($530 for a 2 room)
Good news on the beer, ! was introduced to the Utah State Liquor store, you can get real beer and booze, the only downside is it closes at 5pm and it's not open on Sunday's. Nothing that proper planning couldn't prevent.
And no, if anything it shaves 6 or so hours off of my drive.

youve also gotta keep in mind.... the reason you are there in the first place is because the people that USED to do it, said fuck this shit, and left..... most likely they had a damn good reason..... and youre about to take over and do their job... what the fuck happened that they all said fuck it and left. and is the same shit likely to happen to you.

If anything, it's the company ! work for not the office itself. !'ve know this company has sucked for a while, but they treat me right and ! can get away with a lot of crap. The reason the guy left is because he was new and nobody helped him, ie my boss. My boss is a dump truck, ! know more than that bastid does. With this promotion ! will report directly to the Global IT Director, get an office and all that jazz. !'ve lived in AZ about 6 years now, it feels right for a change. The only thing !'ll miss is the few people !'m friends with out there. ! do look forward to living somewhere with lower population and ! can always make new friends. Shit, most of my real friends live on the internet, so nothing would change for the most part. Still not looking forward to the winter though.
