Vince didn't respect his champion (Bret Hart), and the champion didn't respect Vince. It was a 2-sided mistake, that could have ended differently. Ultimately, Vince did the right thing (that Bret vs. Shawn dvd probably made the company millions), but he threw away one of the best workers/talents in the history of his own company. He cut off his nose to spite his face, so to speak.
And I really think Bret had more wins in him. It wasn't time for Shawn.

It was a work and every one benifited
