There has always been rules.

And actually its alot safer for the fighters now, instead of a career of maybe 5 years they can fight longer.

And trust me, I grew up around that shit before there was even UFC, back when they did it in boxing rings and shit.

Start getting into the ammy's and the underground shit, where people get there starts, thats where the best fights happen imo.

UFC to me is actually a joke though.

I'd have to say one of my favorite fighters though is Ryan Thomas.

The sport is being ruined by its "trend" status at the moment. Joe Rogan aint helping either.

I like the huge Ko's you get in the UFC I love those fights but I did like the old UFC better with no rules. If you like MMA what else you gonna watch UFC or worse than UFC imo.

Im assuming your talking about Pride and stuff like that, there are always rules, just more limitations to what you can do on the ground and to a defenseless opponent in japan compared to here in the US.

I dont blame Rogan or anyone in UFC as much as I do the refs, its a tough call being in the position to determine whether a fighter is able to defend themselves if they arent punching back, and knowing when they've had enough so they dont get too fucked up.

Herb Dean has ruined some good matches.

Some were trying to say that knee to Sonnen this past weekend from Silva was a hit on a downed opponent at first, but ill be damned, dude went for a spinning back fist and missed, fell on his ass, pulled himself away to the cage, and caught Silva flying at him with a cheeseburger knee.

Player comes in with the UFC Knowledge.

Re: I like the old Ufc when there was no rules - BoneZugz - 07-12-2012

UFC will always be what it is, they make a sport safer for any competitor who plays the game over time, but there isnt much else they can change at this point, and now they've got their deal with FOX so you can expect to it remain exactly what its been.

There are still some awesome matches, even before the merger with Strikeforce.

Ya, like I said, it actually extends the guy's careers a bit longer as well.
