Its a interesting group of people I need to ask a question to.

I have a PC. Not going into detail in thread, but I need to know if PC towers have the same anti-theft as laptops.

I know some laptops come with some device that sends a signal out or some shit that informs the police were stolen laptop is.

Atleast that is what I was told.

So the tower just needs a reformat and Im good. No worries? Cause Id like to give it to teh g-parents so they have a better computer.

Formating the drive is not fool proof but i doubt anybody is going to go to the lengths of accessing the data that was on it so yeh just format it and relax.
You could always pick up a cheap hdd for it and swap them out if you are overly concerned.

Yeah, not worried about contents on HD, just worried that it may send of signal as soon as connected to web if the PC was reported stolen.

I was always told Laptops were that way.

yeah, it's basically a prog ram that you have to install, most computers don't have it, But you can probably delete it if you format anyway I think.
