good ol' detroit (Tanker Crash on Major Freeway) - sTr - 07-15-2009

Hazel Park, Mich. -- Michigan State Police have shut down I-75 in both directions at 9 Mile Road in Hazel Park due to a tanker explosion and massive fire.
Thick black smoke can be seen for miles away.
The 9 Mile Road overpass bridge over southbound I-75 has collapsed, and the bridge over northbound I-75 is also in danger of collapsing.
The tanker is reported to have been carrying around 9,000 gallons of a mixture of gasoline and diesel fuel when colliding with another semi-truck.
Officials are not sure what caused the crash, but said there was a large explosion and fire reported, said Michigan State Police Lt. Shannon Sims.
There is no word on when the road will reopen.

It is all over the news this morning. We had the same thing happen here in Flint before and it took them over a year and a half to fix the bridge.

Did anybody hear there was 2 other fires/explosions in hazel park as well?
One was a house leaking natural gas,other was a car in a parking lot.I don't know how accurate this information is.Can somebody confirm that as well?

I heard the natural gas one. I'm not sure about the car.
