I been told by friends and family that i should stop looking for a girlfriend and let her find me and that i'm still young and i got plenty time for that and not to worry about it.

it all depends on how you show your positives in your profile. Mentioning ICP is probably not a good thing, don't be angry, but you know the shit is true. Honestly, man... it's like a snowball effect. The more you seek it, the more desperate you look... the more desperate you look, the harder you try... the harder you try, the more desperate you look, et. al.
Your best bet is just enjoy being single, find things that make you happy (that isn't girls)... and do it... then come back to the dating scene with the things that make you happy on your mind. Girls will see that you do things that make you happy, that'll make them happy, that'll make them wanna be with you.
It's weird how shit works, but trust me it does. Girls want to be with a guy that has other things going for him other than a boner.
