Point taken....the parents are to blame more than anything.This is a prime example why some people shouldn't have kids.

& this statement e-mailed to Sheriff Jim Alderman (Larmier County, CO)
âSheriff, you recently appeared on TV wearing a shirt made with the U.S. flag print. The aesthetic hideousness of a denim shirt interwoven with the Stars and Stripes notwithstanding, the wearing of the flag as clothing is a violation of the U.S. flag code. I will encourage any federal investigators working with you on the balloon boy case to charge you with crimes against the flag if that shirt is worn again. I suggest you donate it to the poor. The poor may also be in violation when wearing it, but at least they'll be clothed this winter and probably not shown on world-wide video representing American law officials.â

Actually,that makes sense...they are trying to prevent copycats from doing this as well....Give the family the most severe punishments to discourage copycats. They also lawyer-ed up in case this family tries to blame the movie for motives.

An amateur storm scientist staged a hoax involving his son drifting off in a balloon because he fears the world will end in 2012, a researcher has claimed.
Richard Heene is suspected of attempting a publicity stunt in Fort Collins, Colorado, in a bid to get his own reality TV show.
Robert Thomas, who recorded Heene's ideas, told investigators the "obsessed" father wanted fame to earn money for a bunker that would save him from an apocalypse.
"Heene believes the world is going to end in 2012," Mr Thomas' lawyer Linda Lee said.
"Because of that, he wanted to make money quickly, become rich enough to build a bunker or something underground, where he can be safe from the sun exploding."

lol oops that was my bad, the E-mail that the Sheriff recieved was just from someone watching the shit unfold on TV, they are 2 different things - should have made that a lil more clearer, my fault.
